Description

The silent and serene village, Malayatoor is blessed with the foot-print of St. Thomas apostle. The valley was filled with conservative Hindus. They were deadly against the arrival and works of St, Thomas and did all they could against him. Being alone and tired he took rest on the hill top with prayers. Mother of Carmel appeared before him with  consolation and inspired him to advice the people.

Years passed....generation changed... the valley turned to be a shore of poor, thirsting for all baric needs of human being. They had no culture in beliefs anda deeds. More than 100 were newly baptized. In their spiritual, economical and cultural development a touch of religious felt as an atmost need. Considering the call of time on 25 th march 1976 a home was blessed with three sisters. They became part of the life of the villaagers. Their active participation in C.M.L., C.L.C., Women Welfare, Vincent-de Paul, Holy Childhood organisations in the parish generated a new vigour in the people. Save a Family benefits were allotted and a library on behalf of Mission Legue was opened shortly. The people who were greatslaves to drugs and alcohol were given treatment and were send to retreats. A group of people who escaped from such slavery started prayer group. The inmates and fondly involved in visiting houses and meeting their spiritual needs.
