Sr.Tresa Margaret CMC (General Council3)
Sr. Treasa Margaret was born in the Kalathil family of the parish of Pulincunnoo on Oct. 18, 1918. Joining the Carmelite Convent, Pulicunnoo, she took her first profession in 1941 and her final profession in 1943. In the same year she started her work as a teacher and continued the job until her retirement in 1974. During these years she did many responsible works in the Congregation along with her teaching profession. She served the province as the Novice mistress, Local Superior, Treasurer and Assistant Superior with extraordinary ability. In 1964 she was elected the first Provincial of Holy Queens Province, after the unification of CMC (1968 1974). She was elected General Councilor succeeded by a Provincial Councillorship for three years. Then she served the Province as the Director of the Balabhavan belonging to the Little Flower Convent, Pulincunnoo for seven years. Finally, She became bedridden with high fever, and on Feb. 12, 1996, she left for her heavenly abode.
She was blessed with many spiritual qualities. She was famous for her honesty, justice, poverty, broad mindedness, prudence and prayerful life. While giving corrections to her sisters, she used to do it with motherly affection. She had sincere love for her Congregation and great obedience to the Holy Sea and other ecclesiastical authorities. On the whole she had a personality which was respected not only by the members of the Congregation but also by all those who came in contact with her.
