Sr. Pius CMC (General Council2)
Sr. Pius was born in 1932 in Nedumkunnam Parish of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry as the daughter of Joseph and Rosamma of the Thathakat- Puthupallymattom family. She studied in St. Theresas G.H.S Nedumkunnam run by CMC sisters. After finishing intermediate course in Assumption College, she joined the Carmelite convent of the parish and became the spouse of God receiving the name Sr. Pius. After vestition she studied B.Sc at St. Berchmans College, Changanacherry and B. Ed at Mar Evanious College, Thiruvananthapuram. While serving on the staff of St.Theresas G.H.S, Nedumkunnam, in 1968, she was sent for Theology course at Mater Dei Institute, Goa and was appointed novice mistress of the CMC Holy Queens Province. Soon after God entrusted her with different responsibilities: Provincial Superior, Provincial Councillor, General Councillor, Junior Mistress, Prefect of Study at Mount Carmel Generalate Aluva, Local Superior at different convents, etc. After retirement she went to serve in the Bhopal mission; and it was during that time she was elected Provincial Superior of the Holy Queens Province. A very efficient person in life, she has been always faithful to the Lord and his Church.
