Mother Prima CMC (Superior General)

Sr.Prima  was born at Vadanappilly in the Arch diocese of Thrissur. As the fourth child of Nellissery Porinchu and Mariam on 1929 August 18th.  Her pet name was Leoni. Her Primary education in the Vadanappilly Church School, and Higher Secondary education was Christ King Convent school Pavaratty. She joined C.M.C as on Aspirant on May 19th 1949 and accepting the name Sr.Prima and became a member of St.Theresas Convent  Manalur.  Her Vestition was 1950. She made her first vows in 1951 May 27th and final vows on 1954 December 30th. After her completing B.A in St.Marys College Thrissur, she worked as a non teaching staff of the same college. She did Theology course in Rome from 1959-1962.

After returning from Rome she worked as Postulant mistress and for six years Novice mistress of Nirmala Province,Thrissur. She was Assistant Superior General from 1974 -1980, and Provincial Superior of Jai Christo Province, Palakkad from 1980 1986. She was Superior General from 1986-1991.

After her term office Superior General she opted to member of Carmelashram convent, Kadampazhipuram to live her long cherished life style of a humble servant of Carmel. She was elected Provincial Councillor of Jai Christo Province , Palakkad in 1991 December , but still continued her life in Carmelashram Convent , Kadampazhipuram. She expired on 1992 December 12th on her journey to due to an Jeep accident on the way to Santhome convent Choondal, Thrissur to visit aged sisters.

Sr.Prima was an excellent leader, a teacher of truth, a Rose of patience, Preacher of grace, a great Philosopher of Theologian and liberated religious. She is the guiding star of each one of us.
